Slave Lake and Kinuso, Alberta
– High Prairie School Division is pleased to announce the appointment of Matthew Carter to the position of Vice Principal of Roland Michener Secondary School and Brita Goldie to the position of Vice Principal of Kinuso School.
Mr. Carter will be taking over from Debbie Reid, the former Vice Principal at RMSS. He received his Bachelor of Education degree from the University of New Brunswick and his Masters of Education in School Leadership from the Harvard Graduate School of Education. Matthew also has a Bachelor of Arts in Criminology and Political Science from St. Thomas University. Mr. Carter has over 6 years of experience in the classroom in addition to over 2 years of experience in administration.
Ms. Goldie will be taking over from Terry-Lynn Cook, the former Vice Principal at Kinuso School, who has been seconded by the Alberta Teachers’ Association. Brita has been a Teacher at Kinuso School since 2013 and has a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Calgary and a Bachelor of Education from the University of Ottawa. Ms. Goldie also taught at the Athabasca Delta Community School in Fort Chipewyan for 2 years.
High Prairie School Division would also like to note a correction to a previous media release regarding the appointment of administrators in High Prairie. It was previously noted that Kim Corless would assume the role of Vice Principal at Prairie River Junior High School and Nicole Russett would assume the role of Vice Principal of High Prairie Elementary School. Kim Corless will be remaining as the Vice Principal of High Prairie Elementary and Nicole Russett will be assuming the role of Vice Principal of Prairie River Junior High School.
