2018 ASBA Friends of Education and Edwin Parr Awards BanquetFOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Peace River, Alberta – Trustees and members from Executive Council attended the 2018 ASBA Friends of Education and Edwin Parr Awards Banquet in Peace River on September 12th. High Prairie School Division was pleased to announce Crystal Marschner of FCSS in Falher as the Division’s award recipient. Ward 1 Trustee Karin Scholl delivered the following statement of support for Crystal’s nomination:

The ASBA Friends of Education award nominee from High Prairie School Division is Crystal Marschner.

Crystal works at FCSS in Falher and has truly lived up to the amazing job that embodies FCSS. Crystal has done various work directly related to our schools. She runs the Roots of Empathy program in our classes, each time creating clear communication to ensuring parents and teachers feel comfortable and connected. Crystal is also currently teaching Beyond the Hurt, this is a bullying/ problem-solving program directed towards grade five students.

Crystal is passionate about her job and forms personal bonds with each student. High Prairie School Division is honoured to have Crystal Marschner as our nominee for the ASBA Friends of Education award.


HPSD Mentor Coach Corinna Horsman delivered a speech for the Division’s Edwin Parr nominee Laura Wuth of École Routhier School in Falher. Laura’s nomination was announced in the spring of 2018. The Edwin Parr award is given to a first-year teacher who goes above and beyond in the duties normally expected of a teacher.

Congratulations to the Edwin Parr recipient, Allison Ferguson, of Peace River School Division. High Prairie School Division would like to congratulate all nominees for their hard work and dedication to quality education.
