New Administrators at High Prairie School DivisionHigh Prairie School Division is pleased to announce the appointment of three new Vice Principals and one new Principal in the Division. Additionally, there are two Vice Principals who have transferred to other schools with HPSD and one Vice Principal who has been appointed as Principal of another HPSD school.

Delbert Sheehan has been appointed as Vice Principal at Roland Michener Secondary School in Slave Lake. He will be assuming the role from current Vice Principal Deanna Sloan who will be on maternity leave. Delbert has 22 years of experience in the classroom in addition to 6 years of experience as an Adult Basic Education Instructor for Northern Lights College. He has a Master of Education from the University of Calgary and a Bachelor of Education Degree from the University of Alberta. 

Merle Hubbard has been appointed as Vice Principal of Lakeside Outreach School in Slave Lake. He will be assuming the role from current Vice Principal Jessica Sachs-Cardinal who is moving on to a new position as an Assistant Principal at A.E. Bowers Elementary School for Rocky View School Division. Merle has 22 years of education experience including several years as a school administrator. He has a Master of Education (School Administration) from Gonzaga University in Spokane, Washington, a Bachelor of Elementary Education from the University of British Columbia, and a Bachelor of Humanities in English from the University of Calgary. 

Etta Viens has been appointed as Principal at E.W. Pratt High School in High Prairie. She will be assuming the role from current Principal Neil Barry who is returning to the classroom. Etta has 28 years of education experience with 6 of them as a school administrator. She has a Master of Arts in Educational Leadership and Management from Royal Roads University in Victoria, a Bachelor of Education from Faculté Saint-Jean, and a Bachelor of Arts (Économie) also from Faculté Saint-Jean. 

Spencer Smith has been appointed as Principal of Joussard School. He will be assuming the role from current Principal Heather Caudron who is retiring after serving her entire career at High Prairie School Division. Spencer was formerly a Vice Principal at Joussard School and has since been at High Prairie Elementary School as Vice Principal. Lyndsay Fleming has been appointed as Vice Principal of High Prairie Elementary School. She was formerly one of two Vice Principals at E.W. Pratt High School.

Lastly, Carolyn Giroux has been appointed as the Vice Principal of Georges P. Vanier School in Donnelly. She will be assuming the role from current Vice Principal Monique Dubrule who has been appointed as Vice Principal of École Routhier School in Falher. She is assuming the role from current Vice Principal Melissa Portelance who is returning to the classroom.
